Travel fatigue is general fatigue, disorientation and headache that can be caused by a myriad of different factors.
Travel fatigue is often a combination of:
- A disruption of normal routine (not eating, drinking, exercising, sleeping as you would at home)
- Travelling across time zones
- Time spent in a cramped space with little chance to move around
- Dehydration caused by not drinking enough (non-alcoholic fluid) and the dry air in airplane cabins
Note: Excess alcohol consumption can also contribute to dehydration
